Winter care is must as winter brings uncomfortable dryness to the skin of the face, hands, and feet. For some people, the problem is worse than just a general tight, dry feeling: They get skin so dry it results in flaking & cracking. Due to lack of the humidity in the winter cold air, your skin is stripped of the much needed natural oils and moisture.Without immediate care, dry skin can lead to cracking and bleeding, and harsh winter wind makes the problem worse.As weather conditions change, so follow these winter care routines:

Avoid over-washing with hot water

In winters you are tempted to immerse yourself in a hot bath and if you are prone to dry skin, this will do you more harm. To nurse your dry skin, the solution is to keep your showers and baths short and use lukewarm water instead of hot water.

Apply moisturiser

Immediately after taking shower or bath apply moisturizer. This will help in sealing the moisture to your skin and works as a good Winter Skin Care tip. You can choose among these also:

>Glycerin (best among all): Use glycerine with little amount of gulab jal(Rose water) into it and apply to the entire body or to the dried parts of your body like body lotion. This is very cheap and you can find glycerine at any drugstore

> Petroleum Jelly: Petroleum jelly not only obstructs the wind from touching your skin, but is a strong moisturizer as well.

>Aloe Vera: If you still get windburn, apply aloe-vera to help heal burned skin.

Exfoliate your dry skin 

To get rid of the flaking dry skin cells, do exfoliating regularly once in a week.

Avoid harsh and alcohol based products

If you have dry skin problem, avoid using harsh peels / face packs, and alcohol based astringents or toners. Rather use a cleansing milk or mild foaming cleanser or a toner without alcohol as ingredient. Do not use clay based masks (they strip of moisture from your face), instead use those which are deeply hydrating.

Hydrate From the Inside Out

While at the market, load up on vitamin-C rich produce, such as citrus fruit and dark, leafy greens. Vitamin C can help boost the body’s production of collagen, a protein that maintains skin and other connective tissues

Rough Hair

To prevent breakage or other damage, avoid blow-drying and brushing hair when wet because those locks are most delicate when waterlogged. If strands are really parched, comb hair with a few drops of olive oil and a wide-tooth comb after showering.

Chapped Lips
Keeping a tube of lip balm in an easily accessible pocket is a good first step, but winter winds can take chapped lips to a whole new level. If lips are flaky, take a clean toothbrush and very gently exfoliate the skin to remove excess skin

Dress for success
When heading into the great outdoors, dress for the weather with a hat, scarf, and gloves to avoid windburn and prolonged exposure to cold air.
